Advantages
- Contains the highest quality approved DHA (sugar substance)
- Protects your skin against UV rays (but always use sunscreen too)
- Does not turn yellowish as the tan slowly fades
- Leaves the skin feeling soft and with a natural summer glow in just a few hours
- Neutral fragrance and no “self-tanner smell.”
- You will find that your skin becomes softer after each treatment
Before the Treatment
- When applying self-tanner to the whole body, apply lotion to your hands, knees, heels, and feet. Apply lotion to all areas where you have dry skin
- Light hair (blonde, gray, light brown) should be entirely covered with a shower cap, towel, etc.
- Do not exfoliate, shave, or wax 24 hours before applying the self-tanner
- Avoid having sweat on your skin when applying the self-tanner
- Remove make-up/clean your skin to get the best result
During the Treatment
- Gently apply KOURTNEY self-tan product to your skin with a tanning mitt, cotton pad, plastic glove, or the like
- Make sure to thoroughly distribute KOURTNEY self-tan products to areas with wrinkles, such as next to your eyes, neck, etc.
- Do not apply KOURTNEY self-tan products on your lips – you can apply a lip gloss or lip balm before treatment
- Light hair (blonde, gray, light brown) should be entirely covered with a shower cap, towel, etc.
After the Treatment
- Let KOURTNEY self-tan work on your skin for at least 6 hours before taking a shower/bath
- The tan will develop over the course of 12 hours after application. • Do not get dressed until the self-tan is dried on the skin.
- If you bathe in the first 4 hours, the result will be less visible.
- Some people may find that some excess color might appear by the nose or between the eyebrows [this can easily be removed with a moist cotton pad].
- It is best not to work out right after having applied the self-tanner, as sweat can reduce the effect.
- Stay in the shade and avoid direct sunlight for the first 12 hours after application in order to protect your skin.
How to Maintain our Tan
- Use a shower gel without a scrub
- Avoid taking long hot baths
- Pat your skin dry after showering or taking a bath
- Moisturize the skin often – an after-sun lotion, glycerin lotion, or aloe vera lotion works well
- You will find your skin becoming softer after each treatment
Kourtney Recommends:
You might be sensitive to the ingredients, so you should also do a patch test on a sensitive area, such as the inside of your arm, 24 hours before applying the self-tanner to your entire body to be sure that there will not be an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients.
Always use shower gel with a skin-friendly PH value of around 5.
Self-tan does not contain sunscreen and does not protect against sunburn. UV exposure may lead to skin cancer and premature aging, even if you don’t burn.
Facts about self-tan products

KOURTNEY LLC complies with the relevant legislation in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, and Europe.
Facts
- DHA is a natural sugar that has been used in the cosmetics industry for over 40 years.
- DHA is known for being the best for self-tanning products.
- DHA generates a tan by reacting with the amino acids in keratin, a protein on the outermost layer of the skin. The keratin then becomes darker and creates a tanned look.
- DHA is an entirely harmless substance and is a sugar substance derived from cane sugar, sugar palms, or sugar beets.
- Self-tanner products usually have a sunscreen factor of 3-4 after application, and so remember to use sunscreen even though you are also using a self-tanner.
